Power Station Globe Valve

A heavy-duty cast steel globe valve for high-temperature steam throttling and isolation in power generation.

Size1/2" to 24"PressureANSI Class 600 to 2500BodyGlobe (straight pattern)
Overview

The power station globe valve is built for the high pressures and temperatures of boiler feed, main steam and drain lines in thermal power plants. A disc seating onto a hardfaced horizontal seat gives the fine throttling control needed to regulate steam flow, while chromium-molybdenum alloy steel retains strength at elevated temperatures. A pressure-seal or bolted bonnet contains high-energy steam safely, and Stellite-faced trim resists erosion from wet and superheated steam. The globe pattern accepts a higher pressure drop than a gate valve in return for the precise regulation that power-cycle control demands.
