Slip on Flange
A slip-on flange that slides over the pipe end and is fillet welded inside and out for a robust, easily aligned connection.

The slip-on flange is bored slightly larger than the outside diameter of the pipe so it can be slipped over the pipe end before being welded both inside and outside to develop full strength. Built to ASME B16.5 dimensions, it is favoured where ease of alignment and lower initial cost outweigh the need for the high-fatigue performance of a weld neck. The double fillet weld transfers load while the raised or flat face accepts a standard gasket, giving a dependable bolted joint for moderate-pressure water, air and general process piping.
