Weld Neck Flange

A weld neck flange with a long tapered hub butt welded to the pipe, giving the strongest and most fatigue-resistant flanged connection.

Overview

The weld neck flange features a long tapered hub that is butt welded to the pipe so the flange and pipe become a continuous, reinforced unit. Manufactured to ASME B16.5, its gradual transition in thickness reduces stress concentration and makes it the preferred choice for high-pressure, high-temperature and cyclic service where joint integrity is critical. The bore matches the pipe to maintain smooth flow, and the raised or ring-type-joint face provides a precise gasket seat, delivering the most robust and reliable bolted connection in the flange family.
