Welded Cap

The welded cap is a domed fitting butt welded onto the end of a pipe to provide a permanent, pressure-tight closure of the line. Manufactured to ASME B16.9 dimensional standards, its contoured shape matches the pipe wall thickness so the welded joint develops full strength and distributes pressure evenly across the closure. Used to terminate headers, dead legs and future tie-in stubs, the cap offers a clean, low-stress alternative to a flanged blind where the end of the line does not need to be opened, and it is supplied in carbon and stainless steel grades to suit the service.
